Mihi to our departed. Thinking of positives of Covid - nature; māoritanga rejuvenation, manaakitanga, focussing on simple things. Good to see Aunty Pat
Gunson, Aunty Hine, and Aunty Grace here. Mihi to everyone for making things happen over the year. Good to get rangatahi involved - succession plan. Excited with direction of rūnanga new CEO good comms strategy. Mihi to those on the reo waka - carrying on for future generations.
Financial Report: Sandra
Sandra tabled auditors report and financial statements for year ended March 31,
2020.
Real busy last year - not so much this year. Using the new Zero system/platform meant being able to do accounts during Covid however might have to upgrade and pay for it - About $60 a month. Accounting - another way to do invoices come out as drafts.
- Wifi has changed through to Spark - funding for fibre can go as far as marae but not to individual houses.
Sandra moved the financial report to be accepted. Seconded Maikara - all agreed
7. Properties: Duncan - Maikara and Mark doing guttering/drains. Trees and lawns trimmed. Need to manage pōhutukawa tree roots. Chad leading bathroom work. Car park work starts next week. Need a strategic plan for building work.
8. Rūnanga: Moana; Hunia
Strategic plan meeting on Wednesday. Exciting prospects - rangatahi motivated.
Constitution recommendations: decrease Board members from 16 to 8 - normally 2 reps from each marae - now want 1. Can spouses be registered members? Do we want to make decisions and send to them. Hard copy rūnanga packs sent out - also online. Tiny house being built - Kamiria - very impressed
Linda and general discussion- constitution - representation - do we recommend to them - if we’re not happy they need to know. Need a proactive approach - work through issues. Communication lacking. Smart phone app good tool but not everyone tech savvy. Good opportunity when Helmut was here but not sure if our feedback was tabled. Constitutional plan and strategic plan two different things.
Kamiria: very forward thinking - comms huge need our point of view and vote on issues together.
Steven: optimistic good opportunities for us - its’ a new world - think of our strategic plan and how it align with theirs. Technology engages rangatahi - do we get copies of minutes are they on website? Meetings will be accessible via Zoom.
