5.      Kaupapa: Hunia (for Raewyn): Events

·       Rūnanga roadshow tomorrow.  Rūnanga organising kai.

·       Planting day, Hukarito Stream this Wednesday

·       Rūnanga AGM December 10 2022

6.      Amendments:

·       Next meeting: correction from 20th June to 18th July

·       General Business 1: Ngāti Haumia, not Raukawa

·       General Business 9: Patariki to step down at AGM, not Maikara

7.      Minutes from last meeting are a true and accurate account: Trevor moved, seconded Justin.

8.      Matters Arising

·       Justin: Pest Control didn’t turn up as expected.  Might be charging if marae not open.  Is this for the outside traps?

·       Rick: possums on beach is this due to poison?  Luke: no poison being used.

·       Sandra: T shirts funding from Rūnanga.  Some people didn’t get 25th anniversary t shirts; another order is coming. Not happy with quality, looking to change supplier.  If anyone wants to take over please let Sandra know.

·       Sandra: Building Consent and emergency preparation funding has been bundled together.

·       Moana: Kingitanga pou whenua.  Update is that Kahu will liaise with Tainui. Putea to be worked through, don’t have a date yet.

·       Fiona: Website photos.  Comments at last meeting about getting permission to post photos on the website.  Hunia suggested photos on private part of website.  Fiona to ask for guidance at AGM.

·       Luke: spraying needs to be agreed upon.  Jo has agreed to a trial spraying area.  Hui in agreement that this should go ahead.

9.      Correspondence

·       Sandra: Motor Caravan Association request to stay/rally next year – Hui declined

10.  Financial Report (Sandra)

·       Report provided.  Includes May and June as not at last hui.  Grant moneys showing on report but going out this month.  Accepted.  Moved Sandra, seconded Luke.

·       Marquees: not sure about what Takapūwāhia are doing.  Moana/Sandra to check.

·       Maikara: passed on koha from pōwhiri and Matariki.  And we need pillows

·       Linda: invoice sent to Rūnanga for some Matariki items.

11.  Anahera Ropata: producer of Hui Hoppers being filmed at the marae.  Extended thanks for support.

12.  Bookings (Moana)

·       List provided separately

·       Sandra: We will probably know the start date for building work my mid-August.  The builders are ready to go.  Might need to cancel some bookings.  Will need a detailed plan for setup and ways to isolate the Whare and Whare Awhina.

·       Moana: tikanga of the marae should be the priority – tangi/unveilings etc.

13.  Rūnanga (Hunia)

·       Roadshow tomorrow

·       Representative from Hongoeka needed on election panel to support Māori ward in local body elections.  Moana volunteered.

·       Hunia has asked for a slot at Rūnanga meetings for marae concerns.  Will table

o Fibre issue, sewerage infrastructure

o Aim is to make Council accountable and responsible

o Endorsed by hui.

14.  Properties

·       Whare Awhina  roof needs attention.  Mark Styles sorting out.

·       Material in shed missing: Clearlite and 4x2

·       Toilet seat replaced

·       Need toilet paper, hand towels, big bin liners.  Sandra to purchase.

·       Moana hosed out the bins.

15.  General Business

·       Ammon

o Rūnanga events list provided

o Final Matariki events this week

o Rūnanga AGM 9-10 December, Wairau.

o 25-26 November Tauiwi sports day, Blenheim.

·       Trevor

o Email re sewerage seeping from septic tank on Mullen block

o No septic tanks.  Trevor to deal with it.

·       Moana

o Cousin Sean Smitt asking about goats.  Luke: controlling/eliminating part of the strategic plan.

o Great to have wharekai work underway

o Wednesday night Ihaia Ropata at Takapūwāhia: Land Wars

·       Jolie

o Civil Defence hui moved?  Justin: Was going to be after AGM. Will be rescheduled.

o Aunty Pat Gunson would like bookings in calendar view.  Fiona to put into calendar template

·       Sandra

o Sub-committee needed for building work design/planning.

o Will need a temporary kitchen during building work.  Looking at container/marquee options.

·       Maikara

o What is progress with signage at the gate? Sandra to give wording to Ammon so we can have it bilingual.  Will need a pot to put it on.

o Wananga: can we slot in a wananga on Saturday evenings? Talk about different topics e.g. of Patariki talking about his mahi.  Ammon: would be good to join up with Takapūwāhia for wananga.
