Anything else just email it through to her. Justin: video clips are ready to go - get them checked

Incorporated Societies Act 2022: Stephen had a look at this and doesn't think there is any need to be concerned - but he’ll double-check report back at next meeting.

Strategic Plan: Hasn’t caught up with Fiona Kale yet about a better way to manage reporting our progress – Fiona will have something prepared for

next meeting/table at the AGM. General discussion: May need permissions for photos and videos.

etc.

(12) Constituent meeting changed - not what we agreed to

(13) Jenny Stirling donated painting. Patricia – a lot of artworks donated big good to display some at times and have a rotation system. Kohai – a lot

upstairs, Pat Gunson has kept a good record of all our taonga. Patrick – Jenny Stirling should be acknowledged – she didn’t want to be. Hunia should

have an exhibition of our taonga – telling our stories, they should all be labelled as well.

12. Rūnanga Hunia

Not much changed since last report – wasn’t talked to at last meeting

Rūnanga Roadshow – prepare questions for them everything moving fast can be overwhelming. Sometimes tikanga is overlooked – have talked to Helmut and Callum about this – board needs cultural component. Budget doesn’t account for this. It’s about retaining land/cultural redress. There is a cultural committee.

Need to think about how our land can be used. What’s it’s cultural significance - is it financially viable? Have missed opportunities.

16 Beach road and house next door encroaching on Taupō urupā – should put a caveat on it - trustees are Danny, Ara, and Matiu.

Patrick – what’s happening with Eastwick block? – we never had a site visit.

General discussion. Inaccessible/landlocked. Up to us, could be planted/our proposed nursery.

13. Properties: Building resource consented. Building to take place around Xmas - whānau who've booked marae need to be aware

General Business:

(1) Justin: Mihi nui from Te Wānanga o Raukawa for Saturdays 25th anniversary events - had positive feedback around mōteatea and whakapapa, history etc.

Mihi to Aunty Pip, Rakairoa, Miria.

(2) Patrick: To step down as secretary as too busy with whānau and work etc – Teana was part of succession plan but she moved to Timaru. Good to have younger ones stepping up.

Had a Zoom hui with Heitia Raureti and a few others from about whaikōrero and karanga wānanga x 3 proposed for and at Toa, Āti Awa, Raukawa.

Funding from Te Mātāwai. Not many people attended hui but invitation was sent appropriate people from our iwi. Need to consult with Toa Education

team – could potentially have one wānanga at Takapūwāhia or Hongoeka at end of year/beginning of new year.

(3) Hunia: Tracey works for Chorus. We could submit a proposal to them to have fibre installed.

Proud of Kahu as Toa rep at Matariki Day ceremony. Appreciate the indigenous knowledge shared.

(4) Patricia: Thanks to Linda for organising the Matariki weekend, enjoyed all the activities – clay workshop, Sorrel mirimiri, wānanga korero. Toi workshops could be developed further.

During the clay workshop two women and a man turned up and were talking about Kohai and the lightboxes being installed in Porirua and housing, they seemed angry – Char intervened. General discussion: They are the same people trespassed from Takapūwāhia also forced way into back door at Pipitea. We need to look after ourselves, this is a Security issue, police should be rung.

(5) Kohai: Lightboxes installed in Cobham Court carpark, Photos taken by Himiona of our whanau – Anita and kids and Mairehau wearing cloaks made

by Kohai are the first to be exhibited in the lightboxes. Hamish has been in touch regarding continuing artwork for Plimmerton School library.

Poroaki for principal Mike forest 11 July discussion around a taonga we could give him. Kohai has made him a kete and we could give him a

Hongoeka jacket.

(6) Trevor: Dates for civil emergency hui – will discuss ideas put forward by the whanau and ongoing planning – make take 2-3 hours. Booked in for Sunday 14 August, 10am.

(7) Donna: if anyone needs any RATS tests just ask

Ammon has firewood for kaumātua – Donna has the list for deliveries in Hongoeka

(8) Moana: Takawai has asked if marae open to run his Treaty workshops. Catering needed. Patricia will follow up with Takawai

(9) Maikara: Pest control coming in tomorrow – is anyone around to meet him and open up. Justin will meet him.

Urupā funding doesn’t cover the rākau donated by Ngāti Māhuta – outside of urupā boundary. Kahu looking after it Matariki funding never came through – we’re spending the money then claiming afterwards – same with the anniversary not ideal. Should we just apply ourselves. Engage earlier with more whanau input into proposal.
